Velvet, grey shorthair (russian blue), adult
Banjo, black and white shorthair, about 1 year old
Velvet and Banjo were also FELV+. I took them in over the summer to help out a local rescuer who didn't really have room for them. She relies on students to foster these FELV and FIV cats and when the semester ends many come back to her and get overcrowded. I volunteered to take a couple for the summer.
Velvet was so sweet and beautiful. She loved to play but often was relegated to just watching the nutty Banjo take over. Banjo is just an overgrown kitten. He only lives to play. For some reason we kept calling him everything even close to Banjo, just for fun. He ended up being called Bangle, Bon Jovi, Bungle, Bingo, Bongo, etc.

October 20, 2003 - December 12, 2003/November 19, 2003
Lily Pad - Female, Grey, long hair, about 8 weeks, polydactyl
Lulu - Female, Dark brown tabby, long hair, about 8 weeks
Lloyd - Male, Grey tabby, shorthair, about 8 weeks
Lindy Hop - Female, Brown tabby, shorthair, about 8 weeks, polydactyl
These are the first 'regular' fosters I've had in over two years! They don't even have any illness - they just needed a place to stay during the stray period. It feels great to be getting back into this. These kittens were a little shy but adorable. Lindy and Lulu are the bravest. Lloyd and Lily are more timid, but they are more inclined to seek petting and attention. They've all learned to appreciate the way humans are fun to climb on and how we bring them canned food.
The polydactyls (they have extra toes) in the group have such adorably big mittens for paws. Lily and Lulu (rabbit in native american) are so very soft too. Poor Lloyd is the only ordinary kitten in the bunch, but he's darling too.
update: Lulu and Lindy Hop went back already, but the others were too small, especially Lily Pad. She suddenly seems to be feeling better though, playful like a real kitten! Still these have all grown so slowly. I've enjoyed their company, but never expected to keep them this long.

#48567 Pippen - Male, Black, short hair, about 10 weeks
#48567 Merry - Female, Tortioshell, short hair, about 10 weeks
Merry and Pippen are long and lean and fighting nasty colds. They had everything when they came in originally, fleas, parasites, etc., but only the URI was lingering to be handled. Both were shy at first, but not for long. Pippen started following us adoringly everywhere, purring. Merry loved to play and be petted. Merry also loved to jump and reach up for toys. She also turned out to be very camera shy! The first pictures I took of her were the only good ones I got.

December 23, 2003 - ??
#? Mason - Male, Brown Tabby, short hair, adult
#? Marlie - Female, Brown Tabby/Dilute Tortioshell, short hair, adult
These guys are hanging out with us getting a break from the shelter.
Marlie is a little high strung, but both cats are so friendly and beautiful. They love to have us visit, but they are also settling in more calmly now that they have more room to themselves. Both of them love to play, Mason goes nuts for interactive toys...he hasn't yet figured out that we 'drive' them....but he does start hunting/searching around for something fun as soon as we come in. Marlie has an adorable coo that she uses to tempt us in to visit her.
